about

A celebration of the city and region of Cordoba. It's always inspiring to be reminded that the guitar is a folk instrument, and a Spanish one. We stayed in the mountain village of Zuheros, explored the Sierra Subbetica and spent time in the mosque of Mezquita.
The music is an improvisation around a loop which I fade in and out using a foot pedal. I always hesitate to produce anything which derives from Spanish music, although there are many successful examples from Ravel to Miles Davis and Chick Corea. Having tried out various types of Spanish percussion I opted to overdub a very British drumkit!
